The tiniest break,

A hairline fracture,

It occured in a crucial place,

Constantly aggravated,

Never given a real chance to mend.

A natural disaster,

We never saw it coming,

Just the aftermath,

The chaos, the havoc, the confusion,

Reprocussions needing immense time to resolve.

The ultimate question,

Poorly worded and configured,

Tricky, hard to comprehend,

Easily clouding the greatest minds,

One with no single answer behind it.

The empty photo frame,

Which once housed all that we were,

But I guess it still does,

It’s just not what you’d expect,

A vacant space where memories used to be.
